Those who know me best know that for as long as I can remember I've wanted nothing more than to be a "Mommy". I always have, and definitely still do, consider this to be the most important job of my life.
Well, yesterday was my
First Mother's Day!!! And as a friend said, "
How exciting for you this weekend...you've waited a long time to rock the whole mom gig. :-)" She is so right!!!

We went out to my parents house to celebrate! Mom made one of my favorites, ribs!!! It was fun to celebrate being a mom with my mom!!! (sorry the picture is a little blurry, and Mom's eyes are closed. Dad took the picture on my phone)

While he can't tell me
Happy Mother's Day quite yet, he still is a wonderful little boy who has brought me more happiness in his short 8 weeks of life than I ever knew. It's amazing how his little smiles make my WHOLE day!!!

And yes, I like to dress him in something special for special days. My sister-in-law says it's embarrassing and he will live to not like me very much for these outfits. All I can say is I'm his mom, I'll love showing him these pictures some day, and I can do what I want!!! He's mine!!! He will think they are as great as I do, I'm sure ;-)
Mother's Day was wonderful, my hubby was particularly sweet (plus he was around ALL day). And I do believe one line in a card from my aunt says how I feel best...
Being a mother means knowing that whatever else you did or didn't do, you gave the world something beautiful."
What a great post Jill!! I am so proud of the mother you are :) Guess I could say I did my job well in raising you :)
