A first 'real' haircut!

Back in May we (well, I) were procrastinating on getting Haden's hair cut.  Weekend after weekend we said, "This is it - haircut THIS weekend."  Each weekend something happened and there was no haircut.  His hair was ridiculous and was beyond the cute baby hair stage.  Well, I decided to just cut it myself so into the tub he went and the butchering began.  And a butcher's job it was - uneven but trimmed up - it would do for now.
Hot mess hair getting ready to go back to get his hair cut!

Well, by July it was finally nearing the 'must cut' stage again.  Decided one morning we are going TODAY.  There are none of those cute little shops for kids with the airplane and race car seats..bummer.  But we do have a little sports barber shop which is geared towards children.  Haden was very nervous and not so sure what was going on.  But, the cartoons were turned on, Scott sat with Haden on his lap, and away the hairdresser went...chopping off all my little boys baby hair.

Eventually, Haden got a little squirmy.  Safety Pop from Easter egg hunting to the rescue!!! (I'll have to write a post about Easter soon - he looked darn cute that day!)

What is this knock-off Toy Story mess on me...I know Disney and this ain't it...

The TV is AWESOME!!!

Almost finished...

Alright, Mom, enough pictures already.

Voila!
And by the end I no longer had a baby boy.  Now I officially am beginning to see the little boy he will soon be.  And boy is he cute!!!

Growing up!

Okay...so the kids are now all around 15/16 months old and I'm just now getting around to this post. My bad! Life with a 1 year old is non-stop. That on top of moving classrooms and houses this summer...we got a lot going on over here.   Anywho...looking back a year to this post about me and my best friends all having babies within a month of each other...I wanted to give an update. We made it through their first year...these three sure are cute!

The big O N E !

One year ago right now we Haden was just minutes old! Born at 8:13pm, Haden has forever made the lives of those who love him better!  One year ago he was getting weighed and measured for the first time...7 lbs 14 oz and 22 in (really 19.5).

Today I welcomed a toddler into my life with open arms.  Haden is walking all over and getting into more joyful trouble than I had ever prepared myself for.  Taking his 1-year shots without a tear he now weighs in at 19 lbs 12.5 oz and is 28.5 in tall.

Haden, we LOVE you! May you continue to thrive and grow and change every day! We are amazed by how much we need you and are blessed each time you run to us with arms open wide!

Catching Up!

I got busy! Learning how to walk at 10 months keeps Mommy busy! As they say, a mother is on the go from "son up to son down." So true! Love it though!

A year gone by...

It was a year ago...the world lost a very loving man...Heaven gained an angel.  A year ago, on January 20, I lost my Grandfather.  He passed on and we were grateful that he was at peace.  It has been a long year of missing a great man!
I was around 7.5 months pregnant at the time.  My son will never get to meet him.  But he will carry part of his memory with him always.  This past Christmas, Haden was given one of my Grandfather's ties.  My March baby was given a piece to remember his Irish heritage with, a green tie with shamrocks.
In Grandpa's honor and memory I dressed my little boy up in that green tie.  It's a little big for him now but he will grow into it and wear it often, I'm sure.  He looked so darn cute in it today!

Grandpa,
We all miss you and know you are watching over us all from up above.  I promise you that I will raise my son to be a man you will be proud of, a man who will carry on a piece of your legacy, an honorable man, a man like you!  We will miss you always and remember you forever.  We love you.
